 THE LUNCH BUNCH: SENIOR MEALS
Senior Meals

Monday-Friday   |   11:45 am   |   Reservations should be made 24 hours in advance by calling the Food Site Manager at 218.299.5519 between the hours of 10 am-12:30 pm.  

Enjoy a hot, nutritious, congregate meal! A suggested donation of $5 is kindly requested if you are age 60 and older. Persons under the age of 60 are required to pay $9.

NSI provides this service in part, under the Federal Older Americans Act through a contract with the NWRDC under an area plan approved by the Minnesota Board on Aging.

Join Total Balance Physical Therapy and Fitness in learning how to look for and deal with pain in everyday activities. Each month features a different discussion topic while showing movement exercises that are good to use in everyday living.

Socialize with other quilters while working on your own project. Individuals come together to share their knowledge, ideas, and techniques. All skill levels welcome!

Memory Cafe is a free social gathering where people experiencing mild to moderate memory loss, and their care partners, come together in a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment. At Memory Cafe we are committed to reminding our participants they are valued, significant members of our local community by changing the way we think about memory loss.

AARP Free Income Tax Assistance

Thursdays at the Hjemkomst   |   February 6-April 10, 2025   |   9 am-3 pm

AARP and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) are once again sponsoring free income tax services to the elderly, low and moderate income taxpayers of all ages with special attention to those 60 and older. Certified IRS volunteers have been trained to prepare and electronically file your income tax returns. Every taxpayer's return is quality reviewed and all information is kept confidential. 

  • Bring all tax documents on paper to your appointment. Plan to spend 1.5 to 2 hours.
  • Bring all documents needed to file before coming to the tax sites.
  • Bring Social Security cards, photo IDs and a copy of last year's tax returns.

Volunteer tax preparers will not take phone calls. Rent Rebates will be done up until April 13.

Please do not call the Hjemkomst Center with specific tax inquiries. They are only a host site and cannot answer questions.

Her timeless classics and soothing melodies evoke fond memories where dancing or singing along are encouraged.

    The rules are simple and easy for beginners to learn. Visit pickleball.com for more information and rules of game play. Instructors are not at the location, and those attending will rotate play. Paddles are available upon request and space is limited. No registration required.

     Join our certified aquatics exercise instructor in this class that will leave you   feeling refreshed and energized! These classes will use a mix of cardio and   strength exercises to increase your flexibility, range of motion and tone your   body, while maintaining low-impact on your joints. We will incorporate a   variety of movements, equipment, and up-beat music to enhance your workout. All ability levels are welcome!

    Bone Builders is a free senior strength training and balance exercise program. It is designed to improve muscle strength, balance and bone density, as well as help with energy and general health.

    Valley Triad is a nonprofit comprised of seniors, service agencies and law enforcement working together. Valley Triad meets monthly to develop projects and educational programs for Cass-Clay county seniors. Guests are welcome to attend meetings and bring law enforcement concerns to the group for discussion.
